Monitoring and Rebooting
Understand just what exactly the Monitoring & Rebooting feature includes and the reasons you will be needing it.
Managing your own hosting server might not be super easy and in some occasions it might be quite aggravating, specially if you don't have a lot of experience and you aren't absolutely sure what to do in particular scenarios. The hosting machine has its own Operating System and processes running on it, so you might have to cope with problems that you have not encountered with a standard shared internet hosting package where the provider handles the hosting machine maintenance while you manage only your web content via a hosting Control Panel. In the event that some service stops responding, for instance, or some process start overloading the server, you'll have to take measures to restore the proper operation of the machine. If you haven't dealt with these types of situations before, you'll be able to use the Monitoring & Rebooting function, that is part of our optional Managed Services upgrade pack.
Monitoring and Rebooting in Dedicated Servers
Adding the Managed Services package to your dedicated server service
is as basic as clicking a button on the order page or in your billing Control Panel and as long as the service is active, our system admins will track all system processes on your server 24/7 in order to ensure that everything is up and running precisely how it should. An automated system will alert them as soon a problem presents itself, so they can troubleshoot it to determine what caused it and will then handle it very quickly. Frozen processes, software features that have shut down or programs which use an excessive amount of physical memory are only several examples of the things our knowledgeable staff will look for and handle. A third-party monitoring business can only let you know that there is some issue with a particular system service, but they will lack the means to do anything about it since they will not be able to access your machine.
