A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a typo. The drawback of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a cloud web hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few functions, but it is incredibly easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will just have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be configured with a few clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes under any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all feature for a mailbox, you’ll need to click the logo with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this feature can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than one click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a particular domain, you will get a warning alert. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or replace anything automatically.
